Meet the Providers

2007 Rural Healthcare Excellence Award, Dr. Erika Woodyard, recipientRural Health Excellence Award

"This prestigious award is given annually to honor someone who has made a notable contribution to health, healthcare, or healthcare delivery system in rural Colorado."
Presented by Colorado Rural Health Center to Dr. Erika Woodyard for 2007

Family Practice is a specialty in which doctors and nurse practitioners are trained to deal with almost anything a patient needs, treating patients of all ages from newborn children to the elderly. They specialize in wellness physicals (annual checkups) where the objective is to identify diseases or risk factors that are best caught and treated early. They also treat all manner of medical illnesses such as altitude illness, acute infections, high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, and skin disorders.

A Nurse Practitioner provides family and acute medical care for adults and children across the lifespan. A Nurse Practitioner diagnoses and treats illness and disease, orders and interprets labs, imaging, and other tests, develops plans of medical care to help individuals improve their health and quality of life, prescribes medications, makes referrals to appropriate specialty care, among many other services. As a Nurse Practitioner it is important to inform, educate, and partner with people in meeting their health care needs and goals.

Our providers are certified to perform DOT exams and also manage work related injuries. They are also certified as “preferred providers” with Pinnacol Assurance, Colorado’s largest workman’s compensation insurance company.
